How to Build a Community Around Your Brand: 5 Ways to Do It
Building your community around your brand is one of the top ways to market your business. Community isn’t just your social media followers, though. When we talk about community we’re also talking about your customers, your affiliates and most definitely your email subscribers.
Today I’m sharing my top 5 ways to build a community.
Talk to your current customers to find out what they need or want from you.
Do this with surveys, interviewing them or simply asking for their feedback. And we recommend using the interviews/case studies and feedback in your marketing as well.
Be transparent by showing your human side.
We realize this might be hard for some of you, especially if you’re an introvert. But people want to engage with a real person. Think about the last time you talked to a customer service bot. Didn’t that leave you feeling like you weren’t important to the company?
People want to know who they’re talking to, sharing content with and reading from. Be honest and open up about your business and your brand. And throw in a few personal tidbits. This can easily be done in your emails by adding a personal story to what you’re selling.
Make your community feel special by holding events just for them
This can be as simple as a special deal on your products just for them. Or it could be a special gathering. You can do live events, like a webinar or a Facebook Live. You can do in-person events like meetups or happy hours.
There are also virtual events where you can invite your community to join the conversation online. Invite them to join your conversations on social media and talk to you. You can also create a reward system or a loyalty program for your customers to grow your community.
Share your knowledge freely
This is something I do here on Killara Girl I love helping you grow by giving you ideas on how to use our products, to grow your community and to keep your customers coming back. You can do the same by sharing tidbits in your own niche.
Be consistent in communicating with your community
This means regular emails that not only sells your product but also provides some type of value for the reader.
Be consistent in posting on social media
using a variety of types of posts. If you have a blog, be sure to post regular relevant content to it. It also means being consistent in communicating through customer service when your customer has a question.
Building a community around your brand shouldn’t feel like a chore. Instead find ways to make it fun for both you and your customers.
